Rita Pam has two siblings, a brother and a sister, Maria Jacinta Tarachi, who's also a singer. She is partly of Fulani origin from the maternal side. Her initial desire was to become a Nun but her parents' refusal along with her discovery of her true vocation led to a change of heart on her part. Rita Pam was a lector in her Church for many years. She was also an active member of her Church choir for many years. Rita Pam obtained her nursery education at the All Saints Nursery and Primary school, Abuja and her Primary education at the Federal University of Technology Minna Staff School. She went on to the Federal Government College, Minna for her secondary school education during this time she won awards for best student in Literature and French, in her final year. She was awarded the Commonwealth write-around-the-world certificate for her essay on freemarket policy, in secondary school.
